EVENT DETAILS
π§ Sutton's Spirit of 250 is Less Than Two Weeks Away! π§
As we get closer to June 27th, we know many of you have questions about road closures and parking, so here are the details:
π Parade Information
The parade begins at 10:00 AM in the center of town and travels down Boston Road to Sutton Elementary School.
π Road Closures
Roads along the parade route will close at approximately 9:30 AM and remain closed until the parade has passed.
The primary closures include:
β’ Uxbridge Road from Bond Hollow Road to Boston Road beginning at 8:00 AM for parade staging.
β’ Putnam Hill Road from Boston Road to the entrance of the Sutton High School parking lot, beginning at 9:30 AM.
β’ Boston Road from the center of town to Hutchinson Road, beginning at 9:30 AM.
We anticipate roads reopening around 11:30 AM, once the parade has concluded.
π
ΏοΈ Parking
Public parking will be available at:
β’ First Congregational Church
β’ St. Mark's Church
β’ Sutton Schools
The Early Learning Center parking lot will not be available at the start of the event, as it is where the parade ends and participants will be unloading and departing from their floats and vehicles. Once parade participants have cleared the area and those not staying for the festivities have left, the lot will be opened for public parking.
We are anticipating very large crowds for this historic celebration, and parking will be tight. Please, please, please carpool whenever possible. Every vehicle we can keep off the road helps make parking easier for everyone and allows more visitors to enjoy the event.
βΏ Accessible Parking
The usual handicap parking spaces will be available in the church parking lots. In addition, we will have a designated handicap parking area at Sutton High School. If you have a handicap placard or plate, you may park in the lot adjacent to the basketball courts. Handicap parking signs will be posted to help direct visitors to the designated area.
If you park at St. Mark's Church, we kindly ask that you move your vehicle by 3:00 PM, as the church has services later in the day.
πͺ Festivities Continue All Day
After the parade, join us on the Sutton High School grounds for food, entertainment, demonstrations, vendors, games, and more until 6:00 PM.
π Fireworks
The celebration concludes with fireworks, best viewed from the Sutton Common area, beginning at approximately 9:15 PM (or at dusk).
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we celebrate Sutton's 250th anniversary. We can't wait to see everyone on June 27th!
